The home is uniquely setup with 4 bedrooms with 4 private baths. 3 of the bedrooms have private lanais. Our hale includes ample parking for multiple families making it convenient to come and go. It also features an outside shower and a private lawn area behind the home

House Rules

Good Neighbor Policy Per local STVR Regulations, we fully enforce the Good Neighbor Policy as follows: - Quiet hours shall be from 9:00pm to 8:00am during which time the noise from the short term vacation rental shall not unreasonably disturb adjacent neighbors. This is a local neighborhood and respecting your neighbors is extremely important in Hawaii (live aloha). - Sound that is audible beyond the property boundaries during non-quiet hours shall not be more excessive than would be otherwise associated with a residential area. - Guest vehicles shall be parked within the designated onsite parking area. -The STVR shall not be used for commercial purposes. Failure to comply with the good neighbor policy stated above will be construed to be a violation. House Rules and Guidelines - Please keep your speed 10 mph on street, there are a lot of kids in the area going back and forth from the beach and school, respect their safety. - Please remove your shoes before entering the home. For your convenience, there is also an outdoor shower to rinse off sandy toes and toys before entering the home. - Please shut off propane tank on BBQ when not in use and before check out. - Secure all locks and doors when you leave the home and before check out. - Please keep door keys in lock box at all times. - Please turn off lights when not in use and before check out. - Hawaii is a tropical paradise that can get warm and humid. To make your stay more comfortable, we have preset the temperature of our A/C system to 72 F (A/C settings should not be manually adjusted). - If heavy storm is forecasted do not leave back sliders open. They must be closed or else rain water will come into the house and cause damage. - There is no dishwasher. Please wash all dishes and leave on the dish rack before you check out. - Please take all interior trash outside to the main trash bins at the front of the home. On trash pick up day (Tuesday), please roll main trash bins to curb. - Remove all linens and towels from bedrooms and bathrooms and place them in the laundry room before check out. - For your convenience, there is an on-site washer and dryer. Please only wash SMALL loads, as the washer and dryer do not do well with large loads. - It's okay to use the coffee table for eating provide you take precaution to keep the area and couches clean.

Did we say centrally located! Our Kona Surf House is in a great spot to use as your base of operations to explore all the amenities the Big Island has to offer. National parks, surfing, an active volcano, waterfalls, hiking trails, ATV adventures, Zipline adventures, horseback riding, botanical gardens and endless coastline sightseeing.

The home sits in an older hawaiian family oriented neighborhood. So respect for the neighbors is appreciated. We have a park for kids right up the street from the house (5 min walk).

Guest have access to the 4 bedrooms, 4 baths, kitchen and ohana room. NO ACCESS IS ALLOWED TO THE LOFTS.

We stayed here as a family of five adults. The three bedrooms were incredibly spacious with high ceilings. In particular, the two rooms located further back had windows on two sides, offering a beautiful view of the lush greenery right from the beds. The room with the bunk bed was about one-third the size of the other rooms, though the bed itself was large enough for an adult to sleep comfortably. Every room had its own full bathroom, which made our stay very comfortable. Each bathroom was also well-stocked with regular-sized hand soap, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. The absolute best part of this property, as mentioned in the title, is the new AC system. Having a unit in each room was incredibly convenient because everyone could turn it on or off according to their own preference. Although we didn't use it, there was also a large fan available for anyone who prefers not to use AC. We were able to sleep very comfortably even on hot nights. The property also comes with an amazing amount of amenities. There were plenty of bath and beach towels, a BBQ grill, snorkeling gear, several bicycles, two sizes of coolers, beach toys for kids, a playpen, a high chair, and a first-aid kit—just to name a few, as there are too many to list here. The kitchen was also fully equipped. The freezer was stocked with ice packs and a bag of ice, and it has an automatic ice maker as well. Loading and unloading our luggage was very easy since the driveway is located right next to the entrance. The outdoor shower was incredibly useful, allowing not just us but also the gear we used to be rinsed of sand. Having a lockbox for the keys was another great feature that gave me peace of mind against losing them. There was even a mango tree in the front yard, and we only regretted that the mangoes weren't ripe enough to eat! While we were thoroughly satisfied overall, there were two small things that were a bit inconvenient. First, there was no laundry detergent provided. We did laundry twice during our stay and had to go out to purchase detergent. It would have been helpful to have even a small bottle available. Second, the paper towel roll was already less than half full when we arrived and ran out the night before our departure. It was a bit inconvenient that there was no spare roll.

This property was so beautiful, and extremely comfortable for our family! It is located in the perfect spot, and conveniently located near the beach and only a short walk or drive to the town center. Each room had its own bathroom along with its own patio area. It is fully equipped for all your travel needs, it’s basically having your own home with all the amenities. We truly enjoyed having a washer and dryer as it makes things so much easier especially with daily trips to the beach! We enjoyed the comfort, and LOVED that the home included a shed with bikes, and everything BEACH such as chairs, umbrellas, coolers, even sunblock haha. Overall we truly enjoyed our stay.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Kona Surf House! 🌺 Everything was perfect from start to finish. The home was spotless, beautifully organized, and thoughtfully decorated with such a lovely aloha spirit throughout. The space had everything we could possibly need for a comfortable stay, and the kitchen was fully equipped — truly felt like a home away from home. Every detail was well thought out and made our time there so easy and enjoyable. The owner was incredibly responsive, helpful, and kind, which made the whole experience even better. All around an amazing stay — we highly recommend Kona Surf House and would absolutely come back!

This is an absolutely lovely home to stay in! There are four bedrooms and each one has its own bathroom! That in itself was awesome with our group. The kitchen has everything you need, and the air conditioning takes the edge off the hotter days. A nice big driveway made it easy for our two vehicles, and it was perfect. I can't really think of anything. The neighborhood has lots of dogs that barked in the day, but they didn't bark at night, so that was good. I could comment about the price, but that's all of Kona lol! Compared to everything else we could find this was respectively a great deal!

The owner was easy to deal with and because Kona Surf is a name used in an area of the Keauhou district, I thought this was in a completely different neighborhood. I was happy to find out it was off of Royal Poinciana. It was good for my coworkers to see a real Kona neighborhood where my friends have lived. If there had been a mechanism to communicate with the host by text, it would have allayed some of my fears. I understand why, but I was nervous not confirming the lock box until the day before. The lockbox itself stuck, so it took some maneuvering to coax it open.

Great location right off of Alii Drive. Loved the fact that we all had our own bathroom. Beds were comfy and AC in every room. I would definitely stay here again!

Kevin was a great host and very responsive. This was a great place to stay for our situation. I was taking my adult kids on vacation. Resort rooms for everyone would have cost ten times as much. Instead, we got a very relaxed home atmosphere just a mile from the beach. Every room has its own bathroom - huge bonus. Could not have been happier with our choice to stay here.

A rental car is needed but a trolley is only minutes away on nearby Ali'i Drive that takes you into town for shopping and foodies. We do provide bikes for cruising along the popular Ali'i Drive.
